When you Believe in God, He guides you from the darknesses to the light, bringing peace and clarity. God is your kind protector, leading you away from sin and towards repentance. While those who disbelieve chase false deities, true faith offers inner peace and God’s unwavering support. The message is clear: trust and seek refuge in God, and He will be your guiding light. | Script: بسمالله الرحمن الرحیم Some people say, “so, we believe in God, what good is it for us? What benefit does it bring? Others are living their lives, without being bothered about faith and religion.” In the Holy Quran, God mentions a fact about this world’s reality, which we have probably felt within ourselves. Al-Baqara, verse 257 reads: اللَّهُ وَلِيُّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يُخْرِجُهُم مِّنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ God is the Patron, the kind and supporting Guardian, for those who trust and believe in Him and seek refuge with Him. And He leads them out of the darknesses and guides them into the Light. Darkness brings anxiety and bewilderment, whereas light brings peace and serenity. Everything becomes clear and one becomes tranquil. On the meaning of the phrase “God takes the believers out of the darknesses and into the light”, Imam Sadeq(as) is quoted to have said, “this means God leads the believers out of the darknesses of sins and into the light of repentance.” God guides their hearts, so that if they have done something wrong, they come back and repent to Him. He will forgive. In contrast, “the patrons of the disbelievers are the false deities”, who have come to power in this world and claim that they are capable of doing something for you. But all they do is lead “them out of the Light and into the darknesses”. They take away their peace of mind and serenity and pull them into the darknesses. What a verse! We should let our souls, no, our whole being, soak it up and grasp its meaning. If someone trusts you and seeks refuge with you, you will surely protect them. You would consider it indecent not to. The Imam calls out to God, “O God, is there anyone who has sought refuge with you and was denied it?” All you have to do, is trust God and take refuge with Him.
